The Philadelphia Youth Network welcomes new member board member: Jen Carroll

Jen Carroll officially joined the PYN Board of Directors this fall as its newest member. She serves as Senior Program Officer at the Connelly Foundation. In this role, she handles Human Services grantmaking, which includes workforce development, basic needs, and youth programs.

Her deep knowledge of youth development, workforce development and philanthropy will contribute greatly to the mission of PYN during her tenure on the board.

“We are thrilled to have Jen join us and help advance our mission. Her more than 25 years of work in this space provides her extensive expertise and a vast network that will benefit our youth and partners for years to come,” said Wendy-Anne Roberts-Johnson, President & CEO, Philadelphia Youth Network.

Prior to Connelly Foundation, Jen spent more than 20 years with Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region, most recently as Vice President of Program, working with a team to implement community-based and school-based programs serving more than 3,500 young people in one-to-one mentoring relationships. Jen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Villanova University and holds an MBA in Nonprofit Management.

“I am excited to start this journey at such a pivotal time in PYN’s history. They have a great foundation they are building on and are currently planning a new strategic direction. I look forward to seeing where my skills and connections can assist PYN,” Jen said. “I believe in Wendy-Anne’s leadership, the mission of PYN and the importance of ensuring young people have positive early work experiences.”

The Board assists PYN through strategic planning and implementation, creating a vision for the future, and connecting the organization and young people to new resources and opportunities. The Board’s Development and Governance committees are action-driven groups within the board. All board members are also tasked with promoting PYN, advocating for both youth workforce development initiatives and funding.
