Violence Intervention and Prevention
WorkReady - VIP extends the proven success of PYN's summer WorkReady program into the school year.
This program is tailored for individuals aged 14 to 24 that reside in Philadelphia. WorkReady VIP experiences are designed to go beyond traditional youth development programs, offering comprehensive paid work experiences, mentorship, and career readiness coaching. This year-round initiative aims to serve around 400 youth in a comprehensive career readiness and social emotional learning program designed to equip youth with essential skills for future success.

What to Expect:
WorkReady VIP is designed to provide comprehensive career development training through guided curriculum and paid jobsite placements across a variety of career sectors. In addition to opportunities for paid work, program providers will offer violence intervention and prevention services, access to trauma-informed support services, health and intervention strategies, employment support, and community development services.

6-12 week experiences hosted at partner organizations and worksites across Philadelphia.

120 Hours of paid work experience at a jobsite of your interest.

$11/hr starting wage.

Intermittent classroom and on-site professional development training, industry tours, guest speakers, site visits and more.

Trauma-informed support services and mentorship.

Who is Eligible:

Any young person currently enrolled in a Philadelphia high school will be considered for a WorkReady VIP opportunity.

PYN gives preference to youth currently residing in the following, city-designated "high-priority" zip codes: 19104, 19134, 19124, 19140, 19132, 19121, 19131, 19133, 19120, 19143, 19139, 19142.

Additional youth, especially those considered "justice involved", will be considered on a case by case basis.

With a Program Referral
PYN works directly with program partners to facilitate its WorkReady VIP program applications. If you are already connected to one of our WorkReady VIP program providers, you should receive a direct link to the PYN WorkReady application along with a unique referral code for that provider.
Without a Program Referral

Remember - just like at a real jobsite, positions are limited and a job is never guaranteed. We highly encourage youth to consider contacting your chosen program's recruitment manager personally with a brief email to introduce yourself.
