Honoring Legacy Through Opportunity
Founded in 2026

"Together we honor the lives that have shaped our city by investing in the young people who will define its future"
- Mayor Charelle Parker
About the Program
The inaugural Mayor’s Legacy Scholars cohort is launching as a pilot internship program designed to test a new model of career-connected learning placing youth in opportunities aligned with the lives and legacy of notable Philadelphians.
Through the initiative, program participants are placed at internships within the City's Office of the Chief Administrator where they are introduced to the inner workings of city government, build foundational work-ready skills, and contribute to meaningful, hands-on projects that support public service delivery and civic engagement.
The program represents a partnership with the Office of Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, Career Connected Learning PHL (C2L-PHL), and Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) to create high-impact, hands-on opportunities that can be scaled to reach more young people in the years ahead.
