PECO - Various Internships

Welcome to the PECO Summer High School Internship Program! This program offers a unique opportunity for high school students to gain valuable hands-on experience in the energy industry. As an intern at PECO, you will have the chance to choose from seven different experiences based on your interests and career aspirations. 


During your internship, you will have the opportunity to participate in various projects, workshops, and networking events designed to enhance your skills, expand your knowledge, and prepare you for future career opportunities in the energy sector. You will work alongside experienced professionals who will mentor and guide you throughout the program, providing valuable insights and feedback to help you grow personally and professionally.


Open Summer Positions Include:


Electric Operations Internship: Support electric operations in Philadelphia County by assisting with tasks related to aerial lines and underground electric systems. This may include analyzing data, reviewing technical documentation, participating in virtual training sessions, and contributing to project planning. Interns will gain exposure to the craft positions involved in electric operations without engaging in fieldwork.


Gas Operations Internship: Assist the gas operations team in analyzing data and generating reports related to the gas system. Interns will have the opportunity to learn and utilize new computer programs and software tools. Responsibilities may also include conducting research, compiling data, and presenting findings to the team.


Large Account Services Internship:Work with the large account services team to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues. Interns will use computer systems to access customer information, analyze data, and provide support to customers. Responsibilities may also include assisting with account management tasks, conducting research, and participating in customer outreach initiatives.


Safety and Human Performance Internship: Learn about workplace safety practices and procedures while assisting the safety and human performance team. Responsibilities may include reviewing safety protocols, participating in safety training sessions, conducting safety audits, and analyzing safety data. Interns will also have the opportunity to learn about facility management and operational safety standards.


Engineering Internship:Responsibilities: Gain hands-on experience in engineering functions, including the design of electric systems and devices. Interns will work on engineering projects, conduct research, analyze data, and collaborate with experienced engineers. Responsibilities may also include using computer-aided design (CAD) software, performing calculations, and developing engineering solutions.


Customer Financial Operations Internship:Assist the customer financial operations team in analyzing data and preparing reports on low/moderate income customer programs. Interns will use Microsoft Office tools to compile and organize data, perform financial analysis, and create presentations. Responsibilities may also include assisting with program evaluation, conducting research, and supporting financial planning initiatives.
