Philadlephia - On June 12, the Program Services Division hosted the 2013 WorkReady Provider Summer Conference, which aimed to energize the network of professionals delivering WorkReady programs. Nearly 100 youth development professionals from our WorkReady Provider network were in attendance.
The goal of the conference was to help equip the WorkReady Provider community to create high-quality experiences that will engage youth and prepare them for continued success in the workforce. Participants attended interactive workshops, delivered by both Providers and Philadelphia Youth Network staff, that shared strategies around youth engagement and the core components of WorkReady models, including Project Based Learning, 21st Century Skill development, and quality worksite development. Philadelphia Youth Poetry Movement was a guest presenter. Workshops helped participants build their own "tool-kits" with pertinent information and resources that inform their practice and support their work in WorkReady programs.
