Assistant Controller

Reporting to Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for timely billing, collections of revenue and/or payments processing by collecting and/or overseeing the collection of revenue and the clearing of delinquent accounts. Assist with timely reconciliation of all major accounts. Researching new accounting requirements/information; organizing/summarizing data; presenting recommendations. Ensuring that all transactions are processed in accordance with an organization’s policy, applicable laws and regulations and sound business practice.

Customer Service Specialist (Seasonal)

The Customer Service Specialist is part of a seasonal team designed to support the implementation of WorkReady Philadelphia’s summer program. The Customer Service Specialist will primarily be responsible for the management of the youth hotline and email system in order to provide customer support to those interested in connecting to and participating in WorkReady Summer 2017. In addition, the Customer Service Specialist will work collaboratively with the Communications and Marketing team to share accurate and consistent messaging related to WorkReady and PYN. The Customer Service Specialist will also assist with in-person inquiries as needed.

Evaluation Specialist, R&E (Seasonal)

The Evaluation Specialist is a member of the Research and Evaluation Department and primarily responsible for the successful implementation of the WorkReady Summer evaluation. In Summer 2017, PYN is partnering with researchers from the University of Pennsylvania and J-PAL (out of MIT) to study the long-term impact of participation in a summer job. This rigorous evaluation includes a partial lottery system for determining who is placed in a job.

Placement Assistant (Seasonal)

The Placement Assistant is part of a seasonal team designed to provide city-wide access to youth interested in the internship model of WorkReady summer programs managed by the Partnerships for Employment Pathways team at PYN. The Placement Assistant will work to ensure approximately 700 youth are placed in opportunities and have a successful internship experience.

Summer Assistant (Seasonal)

The Summer Assistant is a member of a seasonal team designed to support the implementation of WorkReady Philadelphia’s summer system, which engages approximately 8,000 youth annually. The Summer Assistant will ensure that eligible youth are recruited and enrolled in WorkReady Summer programming and assist in the process of tracking youth files. The Summer Assistant also supports the troubleshooting and management of youth timesheets. This position requires a flexible schedule, including the ability to travel throughout the city and work evenings and weekends, as needed, beginning March through the beginning of October.

The Communications and Events Specialist works to execute PYN’s communications and outreach strategies across all media and position the organization locally, regionally and nationally. The Communications and Event Specialist will primarily be responsible for planning and implement large-scale events related to WorkReady Summer 2017. This role is also responsible for enhancing both internal and external communication initiatives, introducing new solutions to increase efficiency of communication, and serving as a self-motivated and fully-integrated member of the Communications team. Youth Enrollment Specialist, R&E (Seasonal)

The Enrollment and Retention Specialist is a member of a seasonal team and a critical player in ensuring the successful implementation of the lottery. The Enrollment and Retention specialist will ensure that participants randomly assigned to participate in WorkReady Summer will complete the enrollment process and successfully be placed in a position. This person will work closely with the Lead Provider Liaison to coordinate with our network of over 60 providers across the city to support their enrollment efforts. Upon completion of the enrollment process, this person will coordinate with providers to ensure that participants complete their placement.


This position requires a flexible schedule, including the ability to travel throughout the city and work evenings and weekends, as needed, beginning March through the end of June.
