Summer Assistant, Compliance & Operations (Seasonal)

The Compliance & Operations Summer Assistant is part of a seasonal team designed to support the implementation of summer employment programming on behalf of the WorkReady Philadelphia. The C&O Summer Assistant will support the Summer Programming operations around youth, worksites, and clearance files, securing the safety of personal identifying information, filing, and support administrative day-to-day needs for summer program implementation for upwards of 8,000 young people between April and August.

Contextual Learning Specialist (Seasonal)

The Contextual Learning Specialist (CLS) is part of a seasonal team designed to support the implementation of the Contextual Learning component of summer employment programming on behalf of WorkReady from April through August. This position requires a flexible schedule, the ability to work some evenings and weekends, and frequent travel throughout the Philadelphia region.   

The Contextual Learning Specialist will be primarily responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of Contextual Learning activities and related administrative and programmatic requirements for contractors providing Summer programs.

Professional Development Facilitator (Seasonal)

The Professional Development Facilitator is part of a seasonal team designed to support the Professional Development portion of the summer internship model. Facilitators will be required to work two Intern Orientation Sessions (full-day) the first week of July (either July 5th, 6th or 7th), and six Professional Development Sessions (full-day) every Friday, July 14th – August 18th. Additionally, facilitators must be able to attend one training (half-day) in June (date TBD) and one debriefing session in August (date TBD). This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work Fridays.

Youth Enrollment Assistant, PEP (Seasonal)

The Youth Enrollment Assistant, PEP is part of a seasonal team designed to provide city-wide access to youth interested in the internship model of PYN’s summer programs on behalf of WorkReady Philadelphia, managed by the Partnerships for Employment Pathways team. The Enrollment Assistant will work primarily to ensure approximately 800 youth are recruited and enrolled in the WorkReady system. This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings beginning January to April. It also requires light travel and work outside of the PYN office.

The Contextual Learning Coordinator (CLC) leads a team designed to support the implementation of Contextual Learning activities for PYN funded summer programs.  The CLC will be primarily responsible for the oversight of the Contextual Learning Team and all related administrative and programmatic requirements. Customer Service Specialist (Seasonal)

The Customer Service Specialist is part of a seasonal team designed to support the implementation of PYN’s summer program on behalf of WorkReady. The Customer Service Specialist will primarily be responsible for the management of the youth hotline and email system to provide customer support to those interested in connecting to and participating in Summer 2018 Programming. In addition, the Customer Service Specialist will work collaboratively with the PMI team to share accurate and consistent messaging related to WorkReady and PYN. The Customer Service Specialist will also assist with in-person inquiries as needed.

Desktop Support Assistant (Seasonal)

The Desktop Support Assistant’s role is to provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization's desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all laptops, desktops, and associated equipment, to ensure optimal workstation performance. The assistant will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.

Professional Development Specialist, PEP (Seasonal)

The Professional Development Specialist will revise the PEP Department’s professional development curriculum as well as plan and implement the Professional Development Orientation(s) and 6-week series. The Specialist will report to the Program Specialist (PEP) but may work closely with other city-partners and seasonal employees

In close consultation with the PEP Department, the Professional Development Specialist will create nationally-relevant professional development lessons (including a 4-hour student orientation, 6 2-hour lessons and assignment content of digital badge). The Specialist will also be responsible for creating and managing the facilitator training and guide.

Business Partnership Specialist

The Business Partnership Specialist (BPS) will build and maintain relationships with partners to expand career-connected education opportunities for Philadelphia’s youth and young adults. The BPS will work closely with the Director, Director, Partnerships for Employment Pathways, other members of the department and key staff within PYN to ensure relationships with the business community are cultivated to support the menu of WorkReady programs and other PYN initiatives. The BPS’s responsibilities span business engagement and management, program management and expertise in industry trends.

Project U-Turn Fellow, Truancy Intervention & Prevention Fellow

The DHS Truancy Intervention and Prevention Services (TIPS) Unit is requesting the expertise of a Project U-turn Fellow to assess the framework of our program, review our provisional standards, identify systemic barriers and provide concrete recommendations to improve the services of our DHS subcontracted providers. We are also seeking additional recommendations to improve the truancy process of Regional Truancy Court; a process which is undergirded by cross-system collaboration between the School District of Philadelphia, Family Court & the Philadelphia Department of Human Services to ensure the careful and timely review of youth specific truancy matters for Philadelphia county families.  

In summary, the DHS- Project U-turn Fellow will be required to evaluate the effectiveness of existing standards of practice and identify new evidence-based truancy reduction strategies and truancy case management service models to promote community involvement, shift local paradigms, and implement a demonstrated approach to further the engagement of families, advance their awareness of state truancy laws, and streamline their connection to community-based resources to better mediate factors related to truancy.

Data Specialist, Research and Evaluation (Seasonal)

The data specialist will play a critical function in supporting data-informed decision-making, specifically for PYN’s Summer Program on behalf of WorkReady Philadelphia. This person will develop tools, reports, and visualizations which easily translate PYN’s wealth of data into insights for program staff. This includes extra data from multiple internal sources; cleaning, merging, and wrangling the data; working with the R&E team to conduct exploratory analysis; and, developing and maintaining tools which are used regularly by staff. This process requires not only ability to glean insights from data but also work with stakeholders to understand questions of interest and the ways in which data can be inserted into these processes. The data specialist will report to the Senior Research Associate within the Research and Evaluation team.
