Youth Empowerment Services (YES) will provide a comprehensive, multi-media arts and technology training program for low literate out of school youth. The program will serve youth between the ages of 17-21 from North and Northwest Philadelphia. The training will involve hands-on digital media training, self-directed and mentor-led activities and assignments, team-based media projects, contextual literacy classes, individual tutoring, employability training, structured work experiences, and comprehensive case management.

The Greater Philadelphia Federation of Settlements (GPFS) will provide an experientially-based program designed to increase literacy and numeracy gains, access to traditional and alternative educational options and job readiness training in career pathways that lead to a recognized credential. The program will serve out of school youth between the ages of 17-21 throughout the city who are low-literate and lack basic academic proficiency, under-credentialed, unemployed, and underemployed. Participants will also receive individual case management and other social supports as needed.
