Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19122 Program Contact: Indira Lawson, 215-236-4500 The Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America (OICA) will provide one-on-one case management, vocational skills training, college enrollment, and incentives through the Integrated Career & Education Program (ICEP). The goal of ICEP is to provide a holistic, community-based human resource development project by targeting educationally, economically, and socially disadvantaged and disconnected out-of-school youth from North Philadelphia. ICEP will offer an opportunity for enrolled students to complete their high school requirements and receive a diploma from the School District of Philadelphia and receive vocational skills training in the areas of hospitality industry, building trades, and computer technology or college enrollment from one of our partners. - Back to Top - YouthBuild Philadelphia YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School 1231 N. Broad Street, 3rd Floor Philadelphia, PA 19122 Program Contact: Brian Leffler, 215-627-8671 Ext. 29 The YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School (YBPCS) will provide work-based learning, academic enrichment, and supportive services to low-income out-of-school youth between the ages of 18-21. Youth participants will spend alternating six-week sessions in the classroom instruction working towards their high school diplomas, meeting with case managers, and attending workshops on life-skills, job readiness skills and leadership skills. On alternate sessions they are placed at construction sites where they will be given an opportunity to make applicable the training provided during the classroom as they rehabilitate abandoned houses for sale to low-income families. YouthWorks GPUAC - Workstream 1207 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19107 Program Contact: Francesca Harrison 215-851-1765 The GPUAC–Workstream program will provide career and college exposure to vulnerable out-of-school youth with learning disabilities. The program will provide students with life skills training along with academic support in the areas of literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills. Other program features include a highly successful service-learning program for learning disabled students, a comprehensive program of college exposure, and wrap-around services with a strong mentoring component. |
