Student Success Center Leadership Academy

Type: Program Model: Youth Leadership and work experience

Description:
The Student Success Center Leadership Academy (SSCLA) is a program that consists of selected students at schools served by Student Success Centers (SSC) (link to SSC page). These students, referred to as student interns, work in the SCCs at their schools along with the SSC staff to facilitate the daily operational needs of the Centers including student recruitment, SAT and FAFSA application assistance, data collection, and SSC special events. SSCLA participants also ensure that the services provided through their school's SCC meet the needs of their fellow students and are youth-friendly. SSCLA students receive professional development through leadership skill-building seminars. As SSCLA youth fulfill their roles as student interns, they hone their own workforce skills, including customer service, communication, and time management.
